Power steering going bad?
 

Hi.
I have a 2015 BRZ with quite a lot of kilometers on it (187K)
In the last two weeks I have encountered an issue with the power steering “disconnecting”, going back to work after restarting the car, and can come back after 5 minutes or can be gone for days.
I have got an error code C1528 but couldn’t find a lot of information about it. From my understanding, a recalibration of the steering sensor is needed, but upon looking at the log on the ECUTEK app, it seems pretty accurate.
Did anyone encounter such issue and found a solution?
I would imagine that if the sensor is bad, it would be always bad, not just weirdly coming on and off.

Error code C1528 usually means a problem with the steering angle sensor calibration or signal. Also, you can try to check for any loose or damaged wiring, connectors, or components within the power steering system, including the steering angle sensor and its connections.
