ProVent air oil separator / catch can anyone?

According to this video
https://youtu.be/fiAs52P7Qwg
Most of baffled or bronze filter catch cans - Mishimoto included - cause significant crankcase pressure increase which is only bad for the engine.
Has anyone installed Provent 100 or 200 air oil separator to tell us his experience as it causes zero pressure increase and has the best air oil separation?

You do not need a catch can or air/oil separator.

...or an oil cooler

Why you believe we don't need AOS or catch cans, have you ever seen in your intake how much oil/carbon build up is there?
Especially for some of us with remap that use less than OEM map the port injectors, so valves are not cleaned the same!

My '17 consumed near-enough zero oil between changes at 5k miles and usually 4-6 track days. Like, none. New car similar so far, 15k miles in, essentially zero oil consumption. In the old car, mph at Watkins Glen was the same every year, from new to 78k miles, so I don't think I was losing any power due to oil/carbon buildup or whatever over the years/mileage.

IMO, you dont need an air/oil separator or catch can, but go ahead if you wanna.

Yes I have.
There is almost none.
Far from the OEM port map/timing on my tune.

How much intake buildup do you think is normal, even for a purely port injected engine? You will always get some.

I had a provent 200 on my diesel truck before i sold it but it is way overkill for an NA brz. If you are looking for catch cans I would recommend radium. The only issue they have caused was a fitting was made of some type of plastic and yielded. That was in my wrx and radium sent me a metal fitting to replace it.

The less you have the better it's for the engine.
Provent uses elastomers in his catch cans non tested on petrol engines anyway so I ordered a cheap aluminum one!

If you are that worried about it then don’t route the PVC back to the intake.

That's not healthy for the engine I think

You'll never feel any difference from adding a catch can (AOS), whether it is "good" or "bad". However, catch cans are for preventative care, in my opinion, to reduce oil fumes being introduced into the intake air, which effectively lowers knock resistance. No car "needs" a catch can. If a catch can is a "solution" to a problem, it is just band aid that will surely result in a negative end.

In addition, for maximum engine efficiency, a vaccum should be pulled on the crank case, especially under high load situations. Depending on engine setup, applying vaccum to crank case can yield over 50 hp, more realistically 1-5 hp (check out some high horsepower Supra's with downpipe venturi ports). This is why it is not a good idea to vent the catch can to the atmosphere, you aren't pulling any vaccum. This is also why it would be a bad idea to add a catch can that is too restrictive, which is what I assume the youtube video is getting at (I didn't watch it).

No experience with Mishimoto, but I highly recommend Chase Bay's catch can. No restriction, baffled, and uses a steel mesh filter.

Exactly, and you may have more fumes in the oil

“Significant pressure increase” does not equal excessive crankcase pressure. All those catch cans do increase crankcase pressure but none created excessive crankcase pressure. I will trade off some more crankcase pressure to reduce blow by in the intake.
