need ECUTEK tune for edelbrock SC

I installed my SC on a 2018 BRZ and my 2013 MAP is not compatible, does anyone have a MAP that I can use just to get him on the road to Delicious?

tomm.brz 05-08-2023 12:55 AM

stock tune only works with stock map, if you ve Planned to drive witb stock tune, you won t be able even to crank the engine up without stock MAP

Correct 2013 tunes are not compatable with 2018 tunes/car

If you getting deliceous tune then deliceous should supply you with base map

Smaay 05-08-2023 02:25 PM

Delicious wants 350 for a basemap and then 1200 for his dynotune. He should have to double dip. Just need something to get him to Delicious.

tomm.brz 05-08-2023 03:12 PM

Are you talking about a base tune or a map sensor?

dragoontwo 05-08-2023 03:34 PM

Base tune I'm guessing. Just something to get down the road to the tuner.

OR contact CSG. Zach will hook you up with an e-tune. Why do you need to go to Delicious?

I don't. I was replying to someone's questions.

@Smaay Slap the original stock tune on it and limp it down the road with the original accessory belt. So, just don't hook up the supercharger belt and go easy on it.

I think if you didn't change injectors then you can drive it on the stock tune. There is a bypass valve, so there shouldn't be any boost unless you accelerate quick enough to get it into boost. It just takes some control of your right foot.

Also, it sounds like what you said was that you sold your SC to someone and are trying to sell your tune with it. Maybe you tried to swap ECUs or maybe you tried to sell your tune file to the new person. You can't do this.

You can't swap ECUs because of the model year because of the engine changes (maybe unless you both have automatics because I think the engines are the same), but I'm assuming you are trying to sell or use your tune on his car, which won't work. You need a tune, an ECUTEK license and you need the dongle/cable, and when a tuner builds a tune, you provide your vehicle's ECU number and ECUTEK license and everything is update somewhat permanently on the ECU. In this way, the license is tied to your ECU once it gets "used" and the tune file coded to that ECU and license number, so only the author of the tune could open or alter the file for you to change it to another license and ECU, but they wouldn't do that.

Just to buy the ECUTEK license is $350. Delicious Tune is either saying that, or they are saying that if the person wants their base map it will be $350 (see below). The base map is not a back and forth full e-tune; it is just to get the car running with basic settings for your setup, so if you have larger injectors or changed the fuel pressure regulator or something. Looks like half the price ($175) can be applied to a dyno session later.

Delicious Tuning - Break in / Base Maps are for getting your engine running at a bare minimum to start diagnosing or to break in a newly built engine. These maps are not for hard driving or running high boost pressure.

Base Maps / Break In Maps can be applied to dyno tuning at a later time.
We apply half of the price of the base map purchase towards dyno tuning at anyone of the dyno tuning facilities we use around the west coast. This allows you to break your vehicle in properly on new turbo installations, engine installation or anything else that may need a break in period and requres a base tune in order to do so.

These maps are designed as a one size fits all and are not custom tunes. In most scenarios we will set the wastegate duty cycles to 0% since these tunes are designed for break in or a base map to get you to the dyno for custom tuning.

guess i leftout a ton of details. Yes I sold the SC and installed it on another car, which was a 2018. obviously the 2013 and 2018 are not compatible so I couldnt load my tune into his car.

the buyer drove all the way to my place in So Cal from CANADA!!!!! he had the appointment and a deposit paid to delicious for a full tune. delicious wanted to charge him 350 bucks for a base tune just to get him down there and wouldnt credit that to his 1200 dollar tune. I say thats pure BULLSHIT!

Luckily Edelbrock came through and provided a tune since he already had an ECUTEK. to major props to them...

So i want to doubledown on delicious, for charging 350 just for a tune to get down there is effing WRONG!. When I got my WRX tuned for all my mods, the shop was happy to provide me a tune to get me to the shop and then do all the fine tuning on the dyno.

Im sure the new owner will post his side of the story.

Tunes take time, time costs money. They are busy enough that if you do not get a tune there is someone right behind you throwing money at them. Capitalism baby!

The stock tune should work unless you have changed out the injectors or MAP sensor. You could put the stock MAP sensor in to get it down the road, just do not get into boost.
