Anyone lowering their BRZ with coilovers and raising the BRZ for winter?
I would like to lower the BRZ and close some of that gap in the wheel well.

The reason I haven't is because I want the ground clearance for New England Winter.

My friend says to get some coilovers and then raise the car come winter.

I don't know much about cars but I swear I recall reading somewhere that lowering and then raising the car wreaks havoc on a cars' alignment, and possibly some other issues I can't recall.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

yes everytime you change the height - you have to realign the car

for winter you would prefer to switch back to stock suspension, wouldnt you?

Yes. I would switch back to the stock height.

a lot of the time, coilovers dont even have the ability to go as high as the car is stock. i would make sure you find a solution with enough range for your needs

Could get the springs Five axis uses, 3/4 to 1 inch drop, and uses the stock shocks, then swap back to stock springs for winter.

When I spoke to Young, he said you could get them through toyotapartsoutlet.com, just like I got my spoiler....or at least call the guy and get them from him.

The negative thing I've read about coilovers for winter is they tend not to like it due to corrosion + temperature range. You can scout different car forums and a lot of people in the snow belt complain, some say its fine though. For now I decided not to lower it and go through the first winter, see how its going to be like.

^ +1 . especially cars in the north east trap dirt/pebbles/corrosion in those coilover threads . might be a good idea to take them off and throw on the stock suspension for the winter if you drive it often
