2015 FRS K24T track toy build

I never had a build thread, by the time I had a car that people wanted to see a build thread on I thought the car was basically finished. But, I’ve decided to spend another several grand changing things up again in my pursuit of building the perfect 86 so…here’s the build thread. The goal remains unchanged: be a car that’s comfortable on the street, and able to go toe to toe with a 911 (if not a particularly spicy 911) on the track. To that end, I’ll be swapping my tired FA20 out for a K24, and boosting the power by another hundred whp. I’ll take photos of all my successes and failures, and catalog them here. Without further ado, here’s the car as it sits in February of 2023.

The boost gods smiled on me today, with a fantastic Facebook market find. Garrett GTX3076 GENII, never been installed, brand new in the box for $1500…that’s easily 1000 short of my turbo budget, so I’ll take the win.

Scored a few tools I needed today, and got started rouging out a jig for my turbo manifold.

I’ve completely dropped the ball on updating this, so, I’ll catch it up. Finished building the manifold, learned a lot in the process. I’ll likely build another manifold out of stainless one day, but I’m happy with this especially as a first effort.
