LF: a good auto shop in the GTA area

Looking for a good shop that knows how to do a clutch job on the FRS

Edit: found one thanks to Vilanous_frx it’s XIII Motorsport.

XIII Motorsport, NV Auto, Apex Auto.

If you want to venture to London... Rob Clarke Automotive and Ron's Quality Auto are both great shops that I have used.

Is that the Ron's on Wharncliffe? If so they were the guys that replaced the engine in my Talon TSi when I was stupid and blew it up. Great work at a reasonable price (well 20 years ago at any rate). Bit of a haul from Mississauga though.

Contact Alex at Adrena Garage, Speers Road, Oakville.

Yep same shop. Great guys and very reasonable pricing. Definitely a trek from the GTA, but hey figured I would put them out there since they did some transmission work on my old WRX :iono:

Rent a transmission jack for $20/day if you are having problems. Make sure your alignment tool centered the clutch well. Rotate the output shaft slightly using the driveshaft to get the splines to line up well. Use the bolts to help pull the transmission to the motor, but it will only pop into position when the spines are perfectly aligned, so a transmission jack and twisting the driveshaft while in gear really helps.

He hasn't even managed to get it apart much less be in a position to put it back together again.

Awww, I read that wrong. I thought he got it off and was trying to put it back together now when he snapped a bolt.

It is odd to snap a bolt putting it back together when it was never really apart completely, so I think that is why it didn't register correctly in my brain.

LF: a mechanic that can do a clutch job and remove broken starter bolt

um, this isn't facebook. this will not be closed. or deleted.

posts are maintained so there's a database of past questions so when some other poor soul in the same scenario starts searching for answers, your previous question ever so kindly helps them out without ever needing to repeat the same question again!

unless of course the OP decides to edit their post so it's of no use to anyone else ever again.

nuking things might work for ADHD facebook and instagram, but the rest of the internet thrives off building on others past experience. it's also how and why everyone wants to go to college, which is also coincidently built on the concept of fast-tracking feeding previous humans knowledge into individuals to make those individuals become what most define as 'intelligent'.

Having played CS:GO with this fella, I know for a fact he's a taker! Always takes a teammate drop but never gives them :(

I didn’t think it would’ve been useful to keep the post up but you’re right. I updated the post. It’s not the same as the original post but it’s close enough, good call.
