Clutch noise new to-day

While sitting with the engine idling pushing clutch pedal in there is a clunk and another when releasing it. Anyone else notice this?

I have. Each time I switch gears, theres always a clunk.

I have it when I am slow rolling and press the clutch, but never at higher speed, or when releasing it, but I don't release it instantly like alot of people like to do.

Follow up: will others please listen for clutch noise and/or report any dealer feedback?

Lytheum 08-20-2012 01:57 PM

Mentioned mine today...still waiting at the dealer

Was told this is a normal sound

I have never heard an audible "click/clunk" but in most manuals I've driven you can feel a slight "click" feedback from the pedal when its depressed all the way down when at a full stop.

One of my buddy's FR-S had the same "click" feedback feel when pushed all the way down the couple times I sat in his.

Because race car! :D

I do not have any clunking clutch when idling, but its kind of clunky when cold and shifting one-two and that apparently is normal.
So I don't know if its really normal?
There is a little bit of travel on the pedal when releasing, at the top when it stops pushing out with the spring, there's some movement up that clunks, but that seems to be pedal clunk, not under the hood.
