AT Transmission Cooler solutions?
Does anyone know if there's still any AT cooler kits available for 2017+ BRZ? I ordered the Stark Performance Kit but it seems like it was discontinued and the seller cancelled the order.

Thanks brother!
Does anyone on here run with it? Any opinions, things to watch out for? Quote:

Long story short I had one, never installed and sold mine. I've never had any overheating problems with the transmission. Also, there is a limp mode the car will go into if the transmission overheats for any reason. Allowing you to safely pull over or drive into a safe area.
I instead went with an HKS oilcooler for my motor. I was frequently seeing 270/290 on the mountains and now I haven't seen anything above 220 in over year. Are you planning on tracking your car? If you are in need of a tranny cooler check out this thread where you can read some information on someone installing and running one. https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69139 Also if it helps a buddy of mine running a turbo AT FRS regularly tracks his at Road Atlanta. He's had no need for one. cheers! |

I have an oil cooler waiting to be installed, it will be done in the next few weeks. This will be a dedicated track car that I'm going to build out over the next few years. Goal is to turbo it either next year or the year after that as I get more proficient in racing. That build thread was awesome! Thank you, I don't feel so old any more getting into road racing ;) You have a good point about the transmission cooler, I should really see what the temperature hits during track day to see if I actually need one. I'll hold off on the purchase for now and see how things go during peak summer temperatures. |
