Winjet Fog Light wiring help
I have a 17’ 86 and wanted to know what’s the safest way to connect the red wire to the 15A fuse? I’ve seen people on Youtube literally just wrap the red wire around the fuse then pop it back in but i’m not sure if that’s safe and will lead to problems in the future.

Add-a-fuse. And crimps. Never wrap wires. I have pictures of house fires that started from wrapping wires

I've done this but then you realize that you can't close the fuse box with the lid anymore. At least in my case. You'll need to modify the lid somehow.
Those of us who live in wet wintery climates need to be careful of salty water/snow/ice/slush/etc splashing upwards from your foot. |
i believe the 3d printing thread has some extended depth fuse box covers for the purpose

I got the add a fuse thing from Autozone, so is it as simple as remove the 15a fuse and insert it into the circuit fuse tap? Because in my research of this process it says i need to add another fuse to the other side of the circuit tap. Which fuse should that be? Can it be any other fuse that powers up to 12v (do the little numbers on top of the fuses that comes in the box mean anything?) On the back of the Littelfuse brand box it says “This device is not designed for use with accessories requiring more than 10 amps!” do i now need to get a box that comes with fuses that can power over 10amps or 12v or something?

So this style of add-a-fuse lets you reuse the original fuse (to protect the original part of the circuit) and add a new one to protect the accessory you are adding. Both slots will need a fuse in them.
AFAIK you can get these with varying amperage ratings. So if you are tapping into an existing 15A fuse, you need one rated for at least that. The accessory you are adding can be 15A or less. The amazon link above seems to accommodate 15A fuses. I've only used these myself for 10A or less for adding a dashcam, so I haven't run into needing one for 15A. |
Everything is hooked up correctly but the fogs won’t turn on

I assume you're going to a relay so double verify the layout of the relay wires. They're easy to get mixed up. |
