Squeaky Clutch
Hi All, I have a very squeaky clutch at the minute. The sound comes from under the hood and is not the clutch spring. It happens with the engine off and on , so is not the TOB. Anyone can advise what it could be and how to fix it?

There's quite a few threads around about this. It's your clutch fork.
You have to remove the clutch slave cylinder (2x 14mm bolts), remove the clutch fork boot, and put some thick grease behind the fork, on the small sphere it pivots on. Also lube the contact point between the slave piston and the fork, while you're at it. All this can be done from under the hood. Shouldn't take long. Also, be sure to drive the car a bit after the manipulation, the squeak may still be here at first, but warming the car up will help the grease become more fluid and get where it needs to go. |
