Weird lighting/electrical issue.
So I have an issue where my driver's side turn signal isn't on,but it will flash when I engage it to turn left,so I know it's not the bulb, which I did replace fairly recent. Both side markers are completely out and won't illuminate at all. Also, the taillights work perfectly fine, which while I was searching for a solution, this was brought up.
I also have a problem with both 12v ports(center armrest area and in the glove box).I checked the fuse under the dash and replaced it,twice. When I plug in a charger,it works for a second or two, then blows.Tried different chargers with the same results.I have no idea if this is related to the lighting issue, but there are definitely some gremlins at work here.Anyone have any ideas? |
When you replaced the bulb, did you replace it with an LED bulb? Did you replace the flasher relay as well?

I replaced it with the exact same type of bulb that I removed. Not LED. I didn't not replace the relay. Mind you,I replaced the bulb around April or May,and it worked perfectly fine. I only recently noticed that the bulb is acting funny now. I'm not getting the fast turn signal inside of the car with the blinker is completely out,and it actually flashes when it's engaged. I'll check the relay though. |
Your side markers and turn signal kind of point me towards a headlight wiring, since they aren't "on" as a running light until you switch your headlights to the on position.
Might be a short somewhere like an exposed wire that is hitting something. |

Just to be clear, whether the headlights are on or off,the left blinker works, but it doesn't stay on like the light on the other side. The side markers are just off completely, lights on or off,and won't work when the blinker is engaged. If I get time tonight,I'll check that blinker relay to see if that could be the problem,if it isn't,then I just don't know, other than a short somewhere, which more than likely will be a pain in the ass for me to find. |
Ok,so I'm an idiot. I know it's been a while, but I finally got a chance to figure out what was wrong with my light. It was because I replaced the burnt out bulb with a single filament bulb instead of a dual filament bulb.
