Disconnecting A/C Condenser
1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys.
Currently in the process of repair front end collision. I need to remove my a/c condenser but how do I go about disconnecting the two a/c lines. I know the top one is pressurized and needs to be done a certain way but what about the bottom one. Can I just unbolt it no issues? (Image attached… I think) |
Both are pressurized. Have the system evacuated of it's refrigerant before opening. Find a mobile AC tech to do it, he'll also need to come back to properly vacuum and refill the system once your repairs are done.
[edit] It's VERY BAD to dump R134a into the atmosphere, it's 1400 times more potent than CO2 as a greenhouse gas, so dumping a pound of the stuff (like a typical small-car AC can hold) is, as you'd imagine, like dumping out 1400 pounds of CO2. |
