White flakes in radiator
2 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone. I just bought my BRZ last month and I noticed some white flakes inside the radiator near the cap. Does anyone know what might this be? Thanks!

probably something to do with using green coolant instead of the subaru super blue that is oem for these vehicles.
your coolant is also running low in the radiator. flush. refill with the right stuff. |
It’s from letting the fluid get too low. As @soundman98 said, we only use Subaru super blue coolant round these parts

Just some gunk build up. As stated above I would recommend going to the Subaru blue coolant. Since you are changing coolant specs I would do a couple of flushes with water to try go get as much of that out as possible. Read up on bleeding the coolant system, not as easy as most.

Most likely This is an emulsion, the oil got into the antifreeze. This usually happens when the thermostat gasket leaks or is changed and a small amount is mixed! Since your head was removed, perhaps because of this! After a while, it should settle on the walls of the expansion tank! Take a ride, see what happens next. It was similar on my Dodge, then I needed a cummins intercooler upgrade https://boostyourengine.com/5-9-cumm...ooler-upgrade/ because the oil gets there
