Using 12V to the 6V OEM reverse camera?

This may be a dumb question but I just got a new aftermarket headunit and I believe it has 12V output for the reverse camera. I have a 2017 BRZ with an OEM reverse camera which only needs 6V.

Will using the 12V fry my camera/do I need to get a 12V to 6V converter?

yes, you NEED the 6v converter. 6v can go into a 12v camera, no problem, but 12v will fry a 6v camera, and cost to replace...

Absolutely need to reduce the 12V down to 6V. Something like this would work:

Is there a guide to wire the converter?

It’s printed on the converter. 12v goes in the red/black side, 6v comes out the yellow/black side.
