OBD code P0852 "park/neutral switch high"
Hi,
I have a 2016 Scion FR-S, stock, manual transmission. It has a P0852 OBD code ("park/neutral switch high") that's blocking me from getting an emissions test (it comes back on if you clear it). I guess it has something to do with detecting the position of the shift lever; I also noticed:
I can see on the OBD scanner that the clutch position sensor still works, and it does require you to push in the clutch to start it. There are also "reverse" and "neutral" switches that you can see on the OBD and neither of them ever change. Is there any chance there's just some loose connection I could easily find? Or should I just take it to the dealer? Thanks for any help |

It is your neutral switch then.
Here is the repair manual. https://gt86stuff.onrender.com/t3Portal/ Just follow the tree until you get to the switch repair. |
