Gas pedal became less sensitive over time after purchasing brand new
 
I drive a 2016 Manual Scion FRS. I purchased the car brand new and I've noticed that when I first started driving the car, the gas pedal was extremely sensitive and responsive to my inputs. But since then, slowly over time through the course of driving normally, I've noticed that the gas pedal became less sensitive and responsive to my inputs.

It still works normally, but the difference is that it takes a longer distance when stepping down on the gas to reach the same RPM's compared to when the car was fresh and brand new. What is happening here? and how can it be fixed to be more sensitive and sharp as it was when brand new?

Could be the ECU learning and adjusting the throttle due to how you drive?

If you flash your car with a tune, you can usually select an option for a more sensitive peddle.

What fuel do you use? It could be that you are getting knock so the ECU has learnt to pull timing, making the car feel more sluggish.

I use 93...just normal gas... So far I haven't experienced knock.

You wouldn't know if the engine had slight knock that caused the ecu to pull timing.

Be aware if you pull the battery the ECU will reset the throttle so it will feel dull for about 15-20 miles.

You can also try to just relearn the tps. Whenever you flash the ecu the pedal does feel dull but if you do the relearn it gets rid of the wait for it to sharpen back up. Don't quote me but if I remember correctly you turn the car on but don't start it and then smoothly depress the pedal all the way down and smoothly back up a bunch of times. I've seen any where from 5 times to 20 so I usually just do the 20 and since I'm me I do it a second time as well. Then just start the car as normal and enjoy.

Not if your running upgrading cooling and e85 blend :bonk:

Upgraded cooling will help with engine to not overheat. It won't affect temp of ambient air and thus air density, which in turn means how much oxigen get's into cylinders, just like height above sea level. Unless you count under upgraded cooling intercoolers for forced induction setups.

Where do I start with flashing? I keep hearing about Ecutek and OFT. I'm kind of new to that stuff. How do I know which tune to flash to get a linear 1:1 pedal response?
