e85 flex fuel supercharger stock engine reliability
 

I know it is pretty reliable to be under 300 whp on pump gas with a supercharger kit on the stock engine. However, how about the reliability of using a flex fuel kit with supercharger (such as edelbrock), where it is tuned with e85 to I think I've seen around 330whp? Should I be worried about the engine blowing at that power level on a full tank of e85 for the long-term (100k-200k miles)? This is all assuming I have the correct supporting mods of course (e.g. brakes, wheels, tires, clutch, etc). Any data to support conservative tunes, for example maybe 320 whp on e85, is safe in the long-term? I plan to do track days and spirited driving here and there, and dailying the car for now.

From the reading in the Edelbrock thread and from the 10k miles I've put on mine it's been perfect so far. That being said I do try to limit my right foot under 3k rpms and I'm being very conservative with my oil changes running motul out to 3k miles.

Good tune, good supporting mods, shouldn't have any issues.

Remember, if you double your power, plan on doubling your cooling.

Yes, there's always a case for someone blowing something up. NA motors also blow up in that mileage range, and sometimes much earlier, with track use.

It really depends on luck of the draw, as well as your use case and maintenance.

If you do it right, it should last a long time. Many folks cut corners, while also claiming to have a much more powerful car than a factory car, with much lower cost. There's a reason why XYZ car cost $ABC dollars, with more power from the factory.
