2017 86 Header Compatible with 2013 FRS?

Hi everybody,
I need to replace the header on my 2013 FRS due to the cat failing. I am looking at replacing it with another stock header for now. I found a stock header from a 2017 86 and am wondering if these parts are interchangeable with no issues mounting. I am sort of new to these cars, so I am sorry if this has an obvious answer.

Thanks!

Welcome to the club.

This question seems easy, but they changed the flange on the 17+ models. I reckon @humfrz or @Ultramaroon knows.

I'll defer to @Tcoat.

No issues. I’m using a revised 2017 manifold and it fits the same as my 2013. Sounds better too in the midrange due to the revised (more EL) layout. Bolt it on and enjoy.

Silencio, old man. Stock header doesn't have anything to do with "loud.":bs:

Does to, old man. I reckon you went and forgot about what an engine sounded like without the stock manifold - :iono:

For what it's worth, the only difference in the entire exhaust is the axle back flange near the diff :) everything else fits perfectly. This just means you can't mix and match exhaust from the midpipe to the axleback, but it's fine if you swap the whole catback

Thanks for clarifying.

It fits fine, but the header flange is about 1/4" farther forward than the MY13-16. So the rest of the exhaust system will be pulled forward by that amount. Its not terrible but you will notice it during the install.

Thanks for the replies, everybody! Great help, and looks like I will be getting the 2017 header I found for sale. Thanks again
