EJ20Y Swap

Recently, unfortunatly, I have been in the market for a new engine. I was looking into swapping a WRX engine into my 2013 Scion FRS to maybe get a bit more power. But i dont know the first thing about swaps. How much horsepower would require a new transmission, or a new clutch, other upgrades? What engines would require the least amount of internal changes? I was looking into a EJ20, but wasnt sure if that was a good idea, or if there were better, and or cheaper options. Or if id just be better off getting another FRS engine.

WRX engine doesn't fit. 2AZ-FE, K, and LS are the only "practical" options, closely followed by the 2JZ which costs a little more. You're looking at almost 10,000$ for a bare minimum swap. The fastest of which being the LS. Unless you're really dedicated to the your particular FRS, just replace the motor. Boost it if you want more power a boosted FRS is as fast if not faster than a sub-10k$ LS swap.

I don't think I've even seen a sorted EJ swap that wasn't a race car running on a standalone. As said above, just throw another FA20 in it.

Ashikabi makes a good point.

What is your budget? That will dictate what option is best for you.
