AP Racing (Essex) brakes - glowing... (and brilliant)

Had the AP Racing Essex Sprint kit now for about 5 years, and a fast mountain run last night reminded me (again) what a terrific set of brakes they are.
Strong, zero fade, great feel and they fit in 16" wheels.
Callipers still look like new after many thousands of km's on dirt, in mud and on tarmac.

Nice one. Which 16 inch wheels do they fit over? Will they fit behind the OE 17inch wheels?

Brz-123: check that kit's page for compatible wheels on vendor's page, where "Both kits will fit under certain 17" wheels, but neither will fit OEM wheels without a spacer. Wheel fitment templates available on our site". Also check thread related to kit on this forum. Third post has list of wheels that clear. Regarding OE wheels:
"* 2013+ USDM OEM BRZ or FR-S front wheels, 10mm spacer
* OEM NZDM Gt86 (by enkei)16x6.5 +48, needs at least 8mm spacer"
10mm spacer means that if slipon spacer type used you need also extended studs (with stock studs & lugnuts upto 3mm slipon spacer is safe). If it's bolton spacer, that limit goes away.

These are Volk (Rays) CE28N 16x7 +33, with heaps of room to spare.
I believe a spacer is required for OEM 17's.

What pads? I run street pads for DD and canyon runs and I don't think they would be liked ring pushed like that :)

Now running Endless MX72, which seem to be very consistent over a wide range of temps. :)

Just going through the process of quietening them down now.
After bedding in, I usually wait a while, then depending on the edge wear patterns, will gently chamfer the edges.
I also start the copper paste applications on piston contact points and backing plate (sliding edge) contact points.
Takes a little while to get right, but generally works in the end.
