Oil leak, recommended dealerships in LA/OC?

I have a FRS that has been leaking oil for some time now. I haven't noticed any pools of oil on the ground, although the skidplate is black/dirty as hell and I noticed the leak when the oil was changed. Factory warranty is about to expire next month and I'm looking to get it fixed but the horror stories of dealerships and oil leak repairs are concerning. Any recommended dealerships in LA/OC from people that have had good experiences with oil leaks being resolved?

Longo Toyota in El Monte. I’ve had some work and diagnostics done there. And it has always been a great experience

Curious how you have a 14 that still has factory warranty?

That's where I actually bought my car from and was thinking about going there. Glad to see someone else recommended them. What work did you have done specifically if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah, I suppose I should have said CPO warranty, good until June 2021 or 100k miles.

Oil leaks from the engine front cover seal near the water pump were more common on the MY 2013-2014 cars. My original motor had this issue. I never got it fixed.

Anywhere but Irvine Toyota. They destroyed my car

Yeah, I have had this leak for 2 years or so without getting it fixed. I figured that I might as well get the issue fixed before the warranty is expired. Not smelling burnt oil would be nice too.

I’ve heard and know a good tech (Mauricio Knox) at the Toyota in Cerritos. Additionally, if you end up not being able to get it fixed in time, you can just clean the area and layer RTV to stop the leak (it’s what I did and has been good for the past year)

Such a common problem. I hate it and also have it. Going to eventually silicone/ RTV it as well.

Lucky you have warranty still. :happyanim:

I second the Longo suggestion. They know how to seal timing covers on the FA20.

Northridge Toyota if you're close to the Valley. Had a leak in that exact same spot on my car, they fixed it up and I haven't had any issues since. It's been close to 15k miles since too.

Timing cover leak is what that looks like to me. It is like a 13 hour job. Make sure that wherever you take it, you ask for their master mechanic to take care of it. Not an easy job. Oil change and coolant flush are suggested when doing this job.

Longo would be my pick and its under warranty so any dealership should take it if the CPO was from Toyota. They get the book rate and will beat it so its easy money for them.

I had a very mild timing cover leak right above the hose in the pic on my 2013. I just lived with it, and kept it clean. After I took it in for the dreaded valve spring recall, the leak was gone. That was about a year and a half ago and it's been clean since.
