Blown Amp Fuse after installing aftermarket HU
Hey guys, i recently installed a kenwood DMX4707S along with a metra harness and a autoharnesshouse 28 pin kit, after installing everything worked but the door speakers, I found that the amp fuse was blown... Any idea why? And what should I do to prevent it from blowing another fuse.
Thank you! |
it didn't like you touching precious.
if it keeps blowing you've got a wiring problem. if it doesn't, you messed up while installing it and didn't notice. |

Yeah it's very odd that it blew up bot I will replace it, any idea what to do if it happens again? |
i always reinspect the part that changed. first step is to return to the stock radio, and make sure nothing changed, then inspect the adapter harness for likely miswiring. optionally, try a different aftermarket radio to confirm a miswiring(same final problem, different known-good radio, just in case the one you've got is a dud)-- but that should be a last resort, as most people don't have extra aftermarket radios laying around, and they rarely do anything that would cause fuses to blow.

did the remote turnon wire get connected to the new radio? i believe there's 2 of them. one in the speaker harness, and one in the radio power harness.
