Overfilled oil after service
 
So I've just had my oil service done to some guys I knew of being very trustworthy. Enter the FA20, an engine on which they've never really worked on. I picked the car up and drove it around a little bit, parked it, after half an hour decided to check the oil level (I always do, especially after a service) and it seemed quite high for my liking, thought maybe the dipstick was dirty from the oil splashing around. I let the car sit for DAYS on a level parking spot, checked the oil again tonight and lo and behold the oil level is still high. Now I don't have much experience with these types of engines, should I be worried of the crankshaft frothing up the oil?

Ideally you want to check the oil when the engine is warmed up and on a flat level ground surface. To me that amount of oil looks normal...

The thing is the leftover oil from the 2 lt canister (Motul 300V) is most likely less than half a liter as it is VERY light (0.5-0.6 quarts) and i know the manufacturer states the oil capacity is 5.4L (5.7 quarts) which still worries me.

Again, do these engines run into trouble with a little too much oil in the pan? I also track the car and i wouldn't want the oil splashing around and being agitated by the crankshaft.

This style of dipstick is terrible to read accurately.

I'd recommend getting some 120 grit sand paper and sanding a cross hatch pattern onto both sides of the stick. This will help "grab" oil in the right places to give you a more accurate reading.

I always check it twice... flipping the dipstick each time so I get a reading on both sides.

If you are still concerned, take it back and have them correct it.

Oil level when full is no where near the crankshaft. I wouldn't worry about that amount over.

Looks OK to me. The first image is fine. The second pic looks like some oil ran down the dip stick. The crosshatch on the stick idea is a good one. I will do that soonish.

Jokes aside, I’ll be more worried that they didn’t fill your blinker fluid, nor even asked to fill it.

Maybe some might see this as a laughable non-issue. But for those who track the car (like me) with a non-baffled stock pan, oil levels are worrying if too high.

I'll be syphoning some oil out as i just don't feel confortable with the amount in the pan currently. Thank you everybody for the inputs.

I'd be more worried about oil levels being too low and missing the oil pump pickup.

you do realize that when you go up or down a steep hill your oil is going to go way past that level? that is like at most a few ounces over the top dot

You have a dozen people telling you it is fine. Why ask if you are just going to disregard the answers?
You didn't even follow the basic instructions of measuring it when the car has been run and is warm. By letting the car sit for weeks you have let every drop settle into the pan which gives a false high level.
Leave it alone. Slightly high is far better than low.
