Spoiler / wickerbill

Well, I believe I've come to the point in my tracking adventure that I am researching aero: adding a splitter and spoiler (not a wing) and maybe rear diffuser.

Looking for others'experiences, recommendations, warnings, etc.

Planning on making the splitter.

Looking for a spoiler just large enough to be able to add an adjustable strip to it's rear surface.

Thanks.
The first looks too narrow. What's the second one? I like the last two.

Second one is Perrin.

Verus was nice enough to do some virtual air flow testing on it:

I’m iffy on it because it may produce a ton of drag at high speed, which our little engines don’t like. But real world application can always differ.

Not the Perrin unit, it mounts on the OE spoiler. I will remove my OE spoiler.

I can't find the second one (no name or logo) as Perrin. Would it mount directly on the back of the trunk lid?

The Perrin unit that mounts on the OE spoiler is listed as DISCONTINUED on 86speed website.

Well would you look at that, it is finally a discontinued product. And no I don't think it would fit without the stock spoiler like it is intended to be.

You can also try your hand in making your own, similar to this:

I think I'll look for a low profile unit to mount on the lid that will allow me to add a strip to it's back

949 Racing project car:

Why are you so against adding a rear wing element?

Spoilers like the 949Racing car result in a high drag effect as a results of a massive wake zone immediately behind the element itself.

My Versus front splitter + UCW Rear Wing at 6* AOA resulted in 2 mph less VMax at Mid-Ohio (122 vs 120 mph) into China Beach and still was ~1.5 seconds faster on the same tire same conditions.

You just made me realize that an adjustable rear wing could be moved to a lower drag config for the drive home because mpg because I'm driving this car Monday morning too...

Right, when I tow my car I throw my wing back to 0 AOA. I haven't really noticed any MPG hit on the towing aspect. DDing around back and forth to work (35 mph roads 10 miles total) I still get 28-29 MPG. Nothing abnormal.

Those type of spoilers do great at low speed (think all Street Prepared style classes). Anything above 60+ you're going to see a massive negative impact

The drag from it is not bad. I have had one for years.

That is what I am planning to do with my GTC200. The drag from it is bad at minimum AOA. Going to build custom mounts with more adjustment.
