Car getting stuck in gear / not going into gear

Hello guys,

I have been having the issue of my car refusing to get into gear or when it does get into gear, it doesnt want to come out of that gear. This issue only happens when the car is fully stopped.

Things i have done to try to fix this issue:
- bled the clutch system
- adjusted the clutch pedal
- adjusted the reverse lock bracket-
- changed the transmission fluid
- changed to a brand new aftermarket clutch
- changed my clutch fork

Car drove fine for 2 weeks but yesterday i went for a super long drive and it came back. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks 🙏.

The previous clutch i had when the issue started was a ACT Stage 2 which was only 2k miles old. 2 weeks ago i changed to a southbend stage 2 endurance clutch and not even 200 miles in im having the same issue.

Just clarifying, the list is all things you have done AFTER this issue first appeared right? So sequence of events was:

1. Car drove fine
2. Car stopped letting you shift out of the blue.
3. Then you did all that troubleshooting. (Did you do it all at once or tried one at a time?)
4. Car drove fine for 2 weeks until you went for a long drive.
5. The issue came back exactly as before.
6. You posted here.

Please let us know if that is incorrect or if there are before/after/between parts of the story I missed.

Also, are there any abnormal noises?

Maybe your clutch cylinder or slave cylinder is bad?

All of that information is correct. And for clarification for #3 yes i did do all that troubleshooting all at once. Thank you.

Next thing im going to swap is the clutch cylinder for sure. But i posted here to see if theres anything else there could be. My car is still fairly new it only has 20,000 miles so it would be weird if my cylinders were giving out so early.

Seems like you have covered most of the basis. True, one wouldn't think either of those cylinders would be bad, but, you never know.

Back in the day, we NEVER had ANY problems with clutch cylinders.

This is a test to see iffen you're payen attention - know why didn't we have any problems???????????

I hope you get it sorted out.

Stock flywheel? Have you checked it's surface?

Spuds 10-05-2020 09:44 AM

Hmmm... Any chance the transmission is misaligned with the shifter? I know it's a pretty direct connection, so not much to go wrong there. Maybe just a bad transmission mount or something?

Hypothesis is that when you replaced the clutch you realigned everything correctly, but then something in your longer drive caused it to shift out of alignment.

...

It does seem like a classic clutch problem though. If you are in gear with the car off and start the car with the clutch pedal pressed, does it still start?

Stock clutch fork?

Doubt its misalligned, car shifts like butter in every gear till it randomly locks me out. And yes with the car in gear the car starts perfectly fine.
