Noise when turn at low speeds

Hi there,

Was just hoping to get some ideas from people before having a look under my 86 myself.

When turning at low speeds, especially at a stop. The front end has a screeching sound, it sounds like ive run over some tree branches. I plan to inspect the ball joints of the lower control arm and outer tie rod end but i was wondering if theres anywhere else i should be looking?

Any feedback would be awesome.
Cheers

Edit: Here is a video of the noise, perhaps i over exaggerated the description of the noise haha. You can hear it better in the second video

Firstly, welcome to the forums. If you post a video with the sound and you will probably get some responses but also, any suspension mods we should know about?

Thanks. No suspension mods have been done to it yet. I will try a post a video soon, if it helps the noise is only on the left (passenger) side.

Seems like all our 2013s are starting to have our front suspensions fall apart lol.

Screeching tree branches, now that's a video I want to see.. Sounds like a horror movie..

So did you find out the culprit? I also have a 2013 and it is starting to make the same exact sounds. No suspension mods. Just a stock 2013 BRZ Limited.

I think the problem is the word "stock". You've got an itch to switch and just looking for the right excuse... Any bump, noise or screeching branch is enough to get the twitch twitching..

I mean, I have been generally following the rule of thumb of: failed parts get replaced with upgrades. Nothing aggressive, but I am at a crossroads. I don't know what part needs to be replaced/upgraded lol.

Tyres, bushes, dampers and springs are consumables and have a limited life. So get changing...

Managed to get a good video. Can hear it really well.

The tires are new, only a few months old. Less than 5k on them.

Suspension is stock though. Sound like springs to you?

Hmm, by chance, it's not EPS coupler that's noisy?

I partially found the source of the noise, upon visual inspection i could see my tie rod ends were worn. It had a lot of play and the joint was fill with grit. It fixed most of the noises that i was having, theres still a slight creaking noise. I suspect its the inner tie rod this time, don't know why i didnt inspect that too lol. Will have a closer look another time.
