Has anyone removed their FOG light shrouds?

Hi, I'd like to remove my FOG Light/ Front indicator shrouds from my 86 (pre facelift) so that I can apply a tint and possibly paint the shroud.

I've seen two opinions on its removal
1. Some say the bumper must be removed to take it out
2. Others have said they pulled it straight off with the bumper still attached as it apparently is only attached by plastic clips
(to clarify I'm talking about just the plastic pieces that surrounds the fog light and indicator, not the actual fog light)

I'd like to hear from the people who did the 2nd opinion as I can tell from looking at my front bumper tabs that if I pull it off again there's a pretty high chance they'll snap and i'll need to get quick release bumper tabs which I really don't want- which is why i'd like to avoid removing it.
For that same reason I want to know exactly what you did (ie used a trim removal tool, screw driver or just pulled it off) and how much force you used, as me attempting to pull with my hands I could feel the whole bumper being pulled rather than the shroud giving way- and i'm apprehensive about trying to leverage it with a flat head without reassurance in fear that the plastic will snap.

Thanks

Thanks, mine definitely isn't going to pop off as easily in that video, think mine has more clips in place because of the fog light- but giving it a go with a flat head I was able to at least get a few clips off. More progress than last time I tried at least

I'll buy some plastic tools and give it a proper attempt

Here's a before and after of the outcome if anyone planned to do the same. The shrouds were pretty annoying to get off even with trim tools but got there eventually.

The tint I used has some air bubbles that I couldn't remove, probably due to it being a cheap $10 wrap but the tints dark enough it's not really noticeable unless you get up close in person. Might take it off and use a spray tint if it begins to wear
