Difference between ID1050 and DW700 Injectors
Hi All,
Am now collecting parts to go FI with my BRZ. Cant find an answer on the differences/benefits between the ID1050 and DW700 fuel injectors. Would anyone be able to enlighten me? OTHER INFO: I am looking to make 300ishwhp on E85 (flex fuel) for now. Cheers |
Capacity wise, both should do for pump gas. Not sure on e85.
I leaned toward ID1050's for my build - have heard multiple tuners say that they are more consistent, making for easier tuning. Especially so at low duty cycle. The ability to replace an injector with a match which had been flow tested is a bonus for down the line |
The real advantage of the 1050x is the ease of tuning and response.
I would go with the 1050x just to make your build that much more reliable. Also, DW injector harnesses are frail. |

ID1050X's have a better spray pattern and atomization, as well as more consistency. They can take low pulse widths completely accurately and will idle port only without issue.

I bought the ID1050s at the recommendation of my tuner. I can't say how well they perform because I haven't gotten tuned yet. I have no experience with the DW injectors, but I can say you'll need adapters for the ID injectors. Don't buy the hard plastic ones (like I did), they don't fit under the stock injector covers.

I also use the ID1050's based on the recommendations from my tuner as well. He also recommended the Full Blown Walbro 485 fuel pump kit.

I would have bought the 1050x if they were out when I got the DW700s. Ive been running for the DW’s for years on track with no issues and currently running E85 at 16psi and had no issues. Guess picking the right tuner helps too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I used DW700's and made 300whp with E85 with never an issue in ~5 years.

I agree that those viewing this thread shouldn't think "1050x or GTFO". Hell, I have a cxracing $199 dollar turbo that runs great too. And I don't use a BOV! There are far BETTER choices to be made, but they work well enough for me and that's what counts, really. The 1050x is just a top tier choice for quality of life with tuning. If I spent money on injectors, honestly I'd probably go with them just to see for myself what the benefits are. |
