Help with removal of plastic wrap from inside Vland headlight casing!

Hi everyone,

I wonder if I can get your help and advice on this.

I bought a set of vland headlights for my GT86. Unfortunately one of them arrived with a piece of plastic wrap inside the casing. I've been offered a discount so I'm keen on keeping them.

What would be the easiest way to get the plastic wrap out of the light casing.

Please see the photo attached.

Many thanks.

Honestly I’d make them replace it. You’d have to bake and pry the light apart best case, worst case cut it open and glue it back together. It’s a ton of work.

Inside? You’d have to heat up the seals to pull the housing apart. You’d have to do it at your own risk but there is a diy on the site with associated steps: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8788

and many times, heating and prying on aftermarket housings results in spidering of the uv coating on the polycarbonate lens. which then requires stripping and re-doing...

Like all mentioned above... Not worth cracking it open if you don't plan on modifying it, I would have exchanged it for another one...

Please send these back!

I would send them back. The only way is if the discount or refund was like half the price, AND I could solve the plastic problem without opening them up. How would I try? Maybe heat from a hair dryer could heat the plastic enough to shrink it down to a size and density that it can be worked to the back of the headlight housing. The other option would be to try and blow/suck the plastic out of the headlight from the back opening using compressed air or a vacuum.
