Leaky Quick Jack couplers
 

Here's some information and pics regarding the quick disconnect couplers on the Quick Jack BL-5000SLX Car Lift (I would assume all models of Quick Jack use the same coupler)

After 2.5 years of occasional use, I had a set of couplings fail. Half of a torn O-ring from inside the male coupler got stuck inside the female coupler so both were leaking.

I contacted Bendpak (https://www.bendpak.com/support/) and since my unit was out of warranty, I was given the option to purchase a new set for $79.99 plus shipping....I said no thanks. At the time I thought I needed 2 sets so that wasn't happening.
So there's option 1, buy a new set from Bendpak and move on with your life.

I didn't like option 1 so I went on a hunt for a suitable replacement online. Turns out, finding the correct set is not as easy as one would think. Here is what I found. The couplers are ISO 16028, 1/4" NPT Thread, 1/4" Body, flat face couplers and can be purchased on Amazon from Summit Hydraulics for $34.95. So while I'm waiting for the parts to come in, of course I had to go and "dig" a little deeper. Turns out, I was able to remove the torn O-ring from both halves and with a little finesse, replace the O-ring with a common size from the local home improvement plumbing department. It happens to be a #7 O-ring, 1/2" O.D. x 3/8" I.D x 1/16".

I found that I had to remove the white plastic "retainer" first, work the new O-ring into place, then re-insert the white plastic retainer on top of the new O-ring. It's kind of delicate work so if you have big 'ol sausage fingers, you might be better off with option 2.

Fantastic! I have one that had damaged threads out of the box. I cuss at it every time I clean up the little red puddle. :/

This also applies to Ranger QuickJack lifts. Thanks so much for posting this! It just saved me a boatload of time trying to measure a ripped o-ring, and saved me $45 to $80!!!!! Why buy a pair of whole fittings when the problem is just an 18 cent o-ring!!!!!
