Advice on Exhaust system

Hello I currently have an MXP Comp RS Catback Exhaust along with JDL Catted Unequal Length Header installed. I’ve been told I need to replace the rear catalytic converter which I believe I can just buy a catted front pipe ? There’s plenty on the market but does anyone have any suggestions that would sound good with my current set up? Any advice is helpful, thank you !

Why do you need to replace your cat? If it's for flow then yes you can just buy any catted front pipe. I imagine sound volume will increase a little but I don't see the sound changing much. If you go to a straight or resonated pipe your sound will likely change and volume will increase

Catalytic converter has gone bad and thrown out a CEL, was told this would solve it.

i would just use an o2 defouler and be done with it...

but i'm still burning whale oil for light, so i'm not the most eco-friendly person in the world.

If you are getting cat related CEL, that is most probably due to first cat on the header where oxygen sensors are located. Rear cat converter does not cause CEL unless it is clogged bad. Your CEL could be related to header or something else. I would double check that CEL before buying a front pipe.

Does your car have a tune? If no then an o2 spacer works sometimes.

If yes, then you need to disable cel p0420.

Was told specifically that it was the rear one, it has made a rattle noise in that specific location after installing the set up, mostly at idle. And no it has no tune although I’ve been considering putting a stage 2 tune with an OFT.

honestly you could just pick up an oem front pipe from someone for $50 if that. i think the general concensus is that any aftermarket front pipe makes your car sound like a tinny, rapsy garbage, rice rocket blowing kazoo, fart canning, teenage, plasti-dipping-your-oem-wheels, ok im done. i know there are exceptions, but dont sleep on the oem front pipe.

edit: oh ya, the cat in the front pipe is way after any 02 sensors like mr g said, so its probably an issue in the after market header's cat, not your front pipe cat
