My 2013 FRS has a knocking sound but only in low speed

My 2013 FRS in automatic (71k miles) has a knocking sound that only appears when the gas pedal is pressed and only under maybe 30mph or so. A gentle press on the pedal will start the sound after about 1-2 seconds and it will stay there until I either let off, or press down more.

I am of course going to have it looked at as soon as I can. But, was curious what the community might think off the top of their head and with experience in this model on what that could probably be.

This sound stops as soon as I let off the pedal or exceed roughly 30mph. Some advice is appreciated if you happened to have any idea of what this is. Could is likely be the Vacuum Pump that needs to be replaced?

probably clutch/bearing, it always goes bad and makes crunchy sound
but you should do a video and try to catch it

Here is a link to a short video I just made that showcases the sound problem. I caught a P0441 error code and failed the echeck, service center said to replace the gas cap first and drive it a bit. If that doesnt make the checkengine go away, then I need to replace another part for that.

I got the FRS back, heard this issue which I never had before coming from it, the knocking sound.

Brake booster pump on the AT cars. It is not an uncommon issue really.
You can wade through the wild guesses in this thread but the pump will most likely be it.

Vacuum pump was my guess. Well, at least it wont be super expensive if that is the issue. Sigh...

Is it that Jetsons space ship noise?

I think he is referring to the "crickets" which although a perfectly reasonable question is a whole different noise than the booster pump.

I was actually just inquiring into your problem but it sounds like you got it all figured out.

Maybe when you have a problem that happens at “low speeds only”, take a video that’s not you idling in park?

No need. The problem was the vacuum hose. It was completely disconnected. The sound is the same idling and also driving, it wouldn't have made a difference.

Anyway, the problem was corrected and its gone now. Lets hope it stays gone.
