Crawford power blocks question

Yes I searched.

Any benefit of power blocks if I am already at stage 2 tune with header and full exhaust. No plans for FI, just thinking about maximizing the power.

Anyone have some opinions, hopefully based on experience.

not worth the 200 bucks
short answer

long answer is being discussed elseware

I feel it helps move down the torque dip and coupled with 4.3 gears allows the car when already passed 4000 rpm to stay in peak torque to power range.

but ultimately the stage two and header make the torque dip null.

Thanks that is what I thought. If it was cheaper maybe.

Mine work well for me. More useable torque in midrange.

If no access to E85, BPB is a decent NA mod. You’ll probably want a custom tune to maximize the benefits. custom tune should also have slight gains from stage 2 ots tune with just a header but even more beneficial if you add BPB into the mix.

Do you have a header and tune?

So now it’s 200 plus a tune which is another 200 minimum for an Etune or more 4-500 for Dyno tune. Would you say the difference is worth it for that kind of money?

The custom tune will bring a little more power out of your setup without the blocks. And be even more worth it to custom tune with the blocks.
If something is “worth it” is entirely subjective to the individual. I would say yes get BPB + tune, others would say no.

To overly simplify it to be easier to decide BPB may add 2-3% more gains and custom tune may add another 2-3%. It doesn’t sound like a lot but with NA modding every last little HP counts.

I hear you. Just thinking I can spend that money on mountain bikes and other things. Thanks.

That's always the case - you could have said that about your exhaust and tune $$$ :) They're definitely worth it if you are doing all the bolt-ons and planning on staying NA and pump gas. They beef up the upper-midrange and are a nice compliment to headers (which usually flatten out the lower range). As with anything on this car (aside from FI) no bolt-ons are going to make it a rocket

I recently had this installed on my FRS that already has FT86 Speedfactory UEL headers & OFT tune for about 2 years now. IMO, it's a great addition as it has become more alive & I can really feel it pulling at 3K rpm where it matters for my daily driver setup.

I think BPB is way better investment than upgraded air filter/intake.

If I were to do my mods all over again for daily driving with staggered budget in mind, my sequence for engine upgrades would be UEL-BPB-OFT tune-aluminum driveshaft.
