why am i not shooting flames?

hi i have a 2013 brz i have and aftermarket catless header an invidia catless mid pipe and over pipe and an invidia n1 cat back and have an oft with a backfire tune and ive tried -7 all the way to -12 on my b timing and i still only get a popcorn sound and occasionally a small flame here and there does anyone know why or how to change that because everyone that ive seen online has the same tune and is able to shoot decent sized flames out the back?

You're not enough of a flamer. [emoji4][emoji91]

Try installing a smaller gasoline tank in the trunk, stick a wee pipe, route it down towards your exhaust exit, wire up to a little button in the cockpit and bingo you will have flames at your fingertips!!

This does away with the uncertainty and anxiety that you are currently experiencing.

Your pipes are not big enough, you should flex them a little more. Also, more tattoos and a tank top should solve this.

Kids these days... :bonk:

Come on man, don't be so serious, you're the one who want to shoot flames from a "slow" naturally aspirated 2.0 litre lightweight sports car. When posting stuff like that you should know that we will have a little fun with you.

On a more serious note, I've done worst thing than that in my youth, so I'm not judging you (almost not). But since it's a mod that YOU won't even see while driving the car, you'll attract all sort of unwanted attention.

I'm sure someone here will be able to get you a proper answer here, but you will get more funny comments down the road...just don't get mad.

Well since at least you have a good sense of humor I will tell you that one way is to run the car rich and then have spark plugs in the mufflers at the end. This is a way dumping gas out and burning it back their that's fairly contained/controlled.

if you ask the general population of weebs on the forum you wont get much, but dont be put off, theres plenty of us on here that are into modifications.

In a modern car you have to have a pro do it unless you want to get a tactrix cable and try your luck at doing your own mapping... and either way you will probably want to rent dyno time.

i have an open flash tablet which allows you to change and adjust basically anything you want thats why i was asking if anyone has done anything differently to achieve flames

I assume you can increase the length of time the injector is on? I'm sure you have to adjust timing and spark and other things to match that? I will turn a wrench a on my car but I don't mess with the computers.

Or maybe fire the injector during or just before the exhaust cycle so it just sucks a little fuel out?

There are plenty of us into modifications that are not into these types of modifications. My car still has the stock catback because I like my neighbors and am not trying to attract unwanted attention. And I plan on driving Laguna Seca this year and they have strict sound restrictions, as do a few other tracks.
