Heat is hot on Driver's side, cold on passenger's

Hey y'all,

I've done a lot of searching on these forums and elsewhere, but there doesn't seem to have ever been a fix for this mentioned. I have a 2013 FR-S 10-series (same hvac as BRZ lim) and when the heat is on it only blows hot on the driver's side. A/C still blows cold on both sides, and when switched to heat the passenger side does blow a little warmer than outside temps, but not much. Closing both of the drivers vents makes the passenger center vent a little warm, but the right most vent is almost ice cold. Any thoughts? I don't want to pop the entire dash out unless I know I'll need to, since its a huge pain.

Going only by your description, it sounds like you have an issue with the passenger side blend door or gate (whatever they call it in an 86). It may be just stuck with something in it or out of sequence. I know some cars have a reset sequence for these, not familiar with them in an 86 though.

Anyway, that is the first thing I would look at or consider.

This is almost 100% the issue. Reinitialize the blend door.

I wouldn't expect anything less in a "proper" sports car...

Straight Pipes' would say "It's a supercar pass" :)

The real question is, does your car pass the visor test?

I found this way more entertaining than I should have....
