Did you check for codes? Direct wire the starter with the ign on to test the starter?

Check live data in obd2 if it shows clutch switch, etc. I never checked on these cars for that..

could it be the security immobilizer, check the info in this thread to rule that out:

No codes like engine lights or anything but the dealer said I had fault codes in my ecu (probably from the starter circuit) but I got a used ecu for 100$ and got it flashed into the car and still the same thing is happening.

And where is the immobilizer located and how would I trouble shoot it?

I gave you a super handy link to the forum thread that should be able to answer most of your questions regarding the immobilizer, the member who posted had a very similar issue that you describe, check out the link below:

update

i just want to point out i had the exact same issue 4/5 months ago the only difference was if i kept pushing the push button the car would eventually start and when it did i got a engine light with a P0512 code (i dont think its my push butto cause it cycles on accessory and off no problem) i didn't mention this before cause i couldn't remember what code came up cause i cleared it and never had the issue again. but it was for sure P0512 i dont have an engine light this time around but i think thats cause i haven't got it to start yet.
