New engine question

Let me start off by saying I don't know anything about engines; my friend is helping me do an engine swap. My old one threw a road and is toast.

So I got this new engine in off eBay and we're perplexed as to what they did here:

(New engine):

1) This obviously has some purpose (bridgestone nipple)?

2) Janky green hose

3) Weird splice?

4) And this welded on (I think?) nipple (capped) that is nowhere to be found on my old engine. It appears as if the hose connects to it?

Anyone know what they did here?

Other friend showed me it may be a set-up for an air oil separator?

Is this off an auto?
1. Looks like nipple added for boost line for boost gauge, autos usually cap that nipple since not used for brake booster. But can use for boost gauge.
2. Janky green hose not sure cant tell where its going to or from by picture.
3. Splice possibly for catch can and or something to do with turbo. Again hard to tell without seeing all ends.
4. Tapped most likely for Oil temp and or pressure.

All signs point to this being off a turboed car and possibly an auto.

Also, thought about just stripping the manifold and hoses, and swapping yours on?

Manual. I think the plan is to just put it all back stock like the old one - I'm just mostly curious about that nipple that's capped off that my old engine doesn't have (#4). Can just leave it capped? Sounds idiotic I'm sure? Not sure if I can get better pictures or explanations really as I don't know what anything is called :( The hose in 2 goes under the black piece and goes into the splice (3), which one side connects into the engine and the other is the loose hose in 4.

Hopefully, they just added a crankcase breather for the heck of it, if not, you may have a nice smoke show when you get it installed.

Any other ideas as to what's going on with the capped off nipple in image 4? The person I bought off eBay says it's "completely stock" which uhh it's not so I'm a bit desperate trying to figure this out.

I was concerned about that. They 'assured me' it's off a manual.

My biggest question is if shit'll start blowing out the bronze piece if I install it or if I can just cap it and leave it alone and swap to original hoses. Like someone mentioned earlier I'll just try and swap the manifold and hope problem solved, but I am still so curious;

Just swap out the AT parts for the MT ones. The bigger concern (don't want to scare you but it has to be said) is what shape the engine is actually in. If the lied/were mistaken about it being from a MT then who knows what else isn't right about it.

Maybe I missed the point in your last post but are you saying for sure that this is from an AT engine? Any idea about the bronze "nipple"? I wish I knew more but I'm still running under the assumption it is an MT engine.

Of course we can't see the engine from all angles (and I can't look at the pics at work anyway) but from your description it sounds all the world like an AT set up. I could be wrong of course because I am going with the limited info I have at hand.

Take a look at the engine and see if it has the vacuum pump on the rear passenger side (Step 12 below). If it does it is an AR if not it was MT. The plumbing may be for an oil cooler. If so the nipple that you are concerned about may be unusual.
