Coaxial Spring Perches Rear Coilovers

So I'm going to buy some coilovers that use the stock top hat for the rears. I'm going to buy an aftermarket top hot and was wondering if a coaxial spring perch is necessary or recommended. Since I'm tracking the car, it would go through stresses higher than usual. Does not using one put extra stress on the seals and shock rod or is the extra wear overexaggerated? I don't think I've ever heard someone say they wore out their coilovers sooner than normal.

They are not necessary but they do make everything work "better." I run them with my MCS, but I am trying to optimize the car for STX as much as possible.
