p000b "engine position system performance - bank 2"
72K, No boost or tune, just got cam carrier seals redone. Something they did perhaps? Should I try to change OCV? Thanks |
Oh, I'd suggest you take it back to whoever did the work and ask THEM to fix it - :iono:

i thought this was an OT discussion about poop.
nevermind then. https://media0.giphy.com/media/11EVpyEaQQvSVi/giphy.gif |

They used too much glue and it got into/through the ACVS filter. Either that or a little fleck of schmutz broke free and jammed the spool valve in the phasor.

I don't get people's logic sometimes. Go back to whoever did the carrier seal replacement. It's not a coincidence this issue occurred after the seal redo. I don't know why you'd go STRAIGHT to replacing the OCV..... |

Thanks Man I wonder if I have any leverage when the dealer claims they had nothing to do with it? (service manager already tried to minimize the possibility a service tech botched something) Does it help to call SOA or anything? |

The difference between defeat and giving up, is that at least with defeat, you had a chance. |

@Ultramaroon Thanks for the input! Using your verbage I went in there and supirsed the service manager With my knowledge. They swapped the upper OCV and got the code for Bank 2, surmising that the OCV was bad.
They replaced it no charge, and a few hundred miles later I still have no code, I guess I hope they were right, but I have got to think you guys are on the correct track, some smultz came loose and clogged that actuator, possibly that smultz has some friends still bouncing around in there and waiting to wreck something else. At Least I fired off an email to the service manager describing that posibility prior to them replacing the OCV, so if something crops up there is a paper trail, though I fear I might not win that argument... but Fingers crossed no issues. Thanks again guys |
