P0453 - Anyone

Have a 2013 BRZ was a turbo car running E85, returned the car to stock and now get an immediate P0453 code. Evaporative Emission System Sensor Pressure to High. Code won't clear. Any ideas?

You might try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, then see if the code will clear.

Was your evap solenoid disconnected for a boost controller previously? Check to be sure you reconnected everything for it.

OK, checked that and all is connected properly. Had a spare evap solenoid so I swapped that and same code. Went through everything under the hood, vacuum lines, connectors, etc. everything is connected where it should be...I'm stumped.

Stupid question but did you change the tune back to stock?

Opie 07-29-2019 07:49 AM

Yes, Ecutek stock ROM

Looks like the ELCM is bad...have one on the way. Looks fun to change...since it's above the rear subframe...

Opie 08-02-2019 11:26 PM

Fixed it, it wasn't the ELCM, found a wire to the ECM that had been tapped for some reason by the previous owner and had a bad connection, repaired it and the CEL went off. So not an actual part failure, a wiring issue.
