Recommended Rear Differential Fluid for Automatic?
 

Hi guys so im at 60k miles now and i thought it would be a good time to change my rear differential fluids and i was just wondering what do you guys recommend for an Automatic? (IF auto even differs from the manual)
I haven't felt any issues with the rear differential so i was wondering at what intervals should it be serviced at?

Motul Gear300 75w90 Synthetic
Or
TriboDyn 75w90 Synthetic

It’s pretty quick and easy. Not sure interval but a 20minute 35$ job. Might as well do it.

I used Mobile 1 gear oil.
All depends how much money you want to spend or which fan boy brand you want to use.

Pretty much any 75w90 synthetic gear oil can work really. But I wouldn’t worry about trying to save 10$ on a cheaper product for something that you only do once every 50k+ miles. Maybe if you do hardcore tracking and swap out fluids frequently it’ll add up.

Yeah I think ima go with Motul I hear its one of the best. Thank you guys for recommendations. I also need to get the two crush gaskets as well from toyota. Do you guys know the torque specs by chance for these the Top plug and Also the bottom plug?

How about till the crush washer is crushed, then, another 1/4 turn (just for good measure - :)).

I guess. I'm not on the Motul bandwagon. So my fan boyism is showing.
Besides Motul sucks fat ****.
Mobile 1 all the way.

As for the torque spec I think it's like 30 something ft/lbs. but I would take humfrz way. That's the way I "torque" mine.
