Parking lot ****heads

So, despite parking away from people as much as realistically possible, occasionally I come out of stores and find someone squeezed right up next to me... I manag d to collect the ding below a few days ago, and only noticed after I got home.

It's at a spot where its visible from just about ever angle, so I want to try working it out from inside the door. But I have yet to take the door panels off this car, and I'm curious if the location shown is easily accessible with the panel off...? Anyone have a picture to share of the bare door?

I would personally get it PDR'd. I've never been able to push a dent out and have it be 100%. I've been extremely happy with the PDR work I've had done.

+1

We would do a "service clinic" for Mercedes Benz Club of America guys twice a year in Charlottesville. Schmooze, hand out coffee and do mini inspections on cool old cars.

The PDR guy would come out with a mallet, smack the fender and door on a new-ish used car, and spend the afternoon taking the dents out while everyone watched. Amazing stuff.

C'mon guys...don't you think I already considered paying a PDR guy? I want to do this myself...just want to know what's under the door panel before I get there..

venturaII: I've taken of the door panel to muffle the rattle noise from the window switches rattling because the music was too loud. You should be able to get to that spot with minimal issue, but there's some plastic sheeting behind the panel that you might have to cut or carefully move.

Access to that spot is is super easy. Only thing in way is the speaker, and the window mechanics.

Come on dude 3 seconds of google-fu you could have found pics.

i get charged $126 to take out a maximum of 3 minor dents. I would just pay the amount then stuffing around trying to do it myself and make it worse. on a side note I don't understand people that just park next to you when there are spots literally every where else. of course its people who don't care about their car.

If someone parks too close I always inspect. If there is damage I return the favor x10. It doesn't fix my door ding but I feel better.

I have done ground up restorations, rebuilt engines and transmissions and any other advanced automotive task you can mention BUT I will not touch anything to do with window mechanisms. They can turn into a nightmare in a heartbeat and scare me to death.

However if you wish to tackle this then here are the disassembly instructions. Of course you would not have to do all of it to access that dent though.

That's assuming they're still there when you get back...

Meh...regulators aren't that bad...they just take a little patience. They're generally 10x easier than they used to be, as well.

You can get there with just taking off the door panel.
