Camber plate adjustment

Hey,

Lets say I was to mess with my front camber plates and add more negative camber, would it also add more toe ? in or out ?

:thanks:

It'll definitely mess with the toe, IIRC it'll add toe in when you add negative camber.

Thanks for the reply, also for example lets say I have 0 toe and 0 camber if I were to add about -3 degrees of camber my toe would change obviously. However what if I zero out the camber again will my toe go back to 0 after messing with the camber ?

toe is linked with camber. You can do alignment for -3 camber with wished 0 toe, but you'll need to redo alignment, if reverting.
May i ask what is your planned usage scenario where you might need -3 to/from 0 front camber change frequent enough for proper full alignment to not be an option?

Depends on how precise you care about it being, that could work. The amount of toe in added from 0* to -3* is going to be pretty drastic though, why are you adding all the camber without a proper alignment?

The -3 was just an example, I was just trying to see if I could get away with adding a bit of negative camber to the front without needing a proper alignment because the wheel pokes out a bit. (I know I should of dialed this in before getting an alignment)

Is another alignment cheaper than 2 new tires every few months?

A few tenths of a degree of camber won't add unreasonable toe to the point where significant tire wear is noticed (like a mark or two on the plate).

Buy a set of toe plates, adjust the toe yourself, they'll pay for themselves after the second adjustment.

How much is "a bit"? There isn't much point in adjusting the camber then turning it back.

I'm no expert but I think it depends on how much toe is set initially. If the toe angle is high and you increase the camber, then in theory the toe angle will be greater? Correct me if I'm wrong though.
