Cusco Intake Pipe
I was at a garage sale the other day and the guy had a number of BRZ aftermarket parts for sale that he had removed before selling the car.
One was a Cusco Intake Pipe replacement. It was supposed to be an exact replacement for the stock intake. The only real difference was that it was a chrome plated metal piece that had a fitting where you could screw in a plug to block off the sound pipe thingy. It also had blue flex connectors at the throttle body and air box connectors. I assumed it provided no real performance gain, and was probably just a cosmetic piece for the engine compartment.
I noticed there was a line on the installation sheet that stated the part was designed for use in Japan only and it must not be used in other countries. Actually they were the only words on the sheet written in english.
Was wondering if anyone knew why it would state this. Thought maybe it was a fitment issue with BRZ's not sold in Japan, but the guy said it installed perfectly and did not seem to cause any problem. I'm not really thinking about buying it, just curious about the statement in the instructions.
