Stock PCV outlet - faulty/leaking?
4 Attachment(s)
Car has been boosted for a few years and heavily tracked. From turbo install, I had a mishimoto compact can connected between the crankcase breather (edit, thanks tomm.brz) outlet below the AC compressor and then returning to my intake between the air filter and turbo inlet.
Have noticed a lot of oil on top of the engine block, around this crankcase piece below the AC compressor and only on that side of the engine. I cleaned it up before last track day and the photos shown are from a days running basically so the PCV bit seems most likely point of leak to me? Nothing relating to the PCV valve or crankcase breather has been changed to my knowledge. Given boost, am I supposed to have changed something there? Could it leaking due to boost? |
that s not the PCV, it s the crankcase side breather
Personally I would try putting a check valve in line of the real pcv, near battery, or directly swap it with wrx pcv (it costs few bucks) and see if it makes better the crankside |
Seems silly to ask this but are you sure the hose on the breather isn't cracked or weeping?

I'd check the hose first just so you don't get water or degreaser in any openings. I can't think of any other source for oil from that side of the motor.
