HKS Legamax Resonator Delete? Edit: electronic cutout valve?

Ever since I went turbo this exhaust has become too quiet.

Would deleting the resonator from the mid pipe give me a bit more sound? Thanks!

Edit: How about an electronic cutout valve before the muffler????

No wont change loudness, its a resonator it jist removes a band of resonant frequencys. Its not restrictive either.

The legamax muffler is very efficient like stock. You would need to chsnge the muffler section.

You other option may be to go to a high flow cat frontpipe that will increase loudness

Thank you for the response! I already have a dual resonated front pipe, so I guess changing the muffler is the only option left (besides getting a brand new exhaust).

I don't get it. You have to bypass the muffler or remove the muffler packing.

Are you going to cut the mid pipe, add a Y/Tee, then attach+wire a valve and add a track pipe? Otherwise its going to be a cluster trying cut and weld to make parallel piping to bypass the packing.

You could ask an exhaust shop to mod the packing, replace the muffler with another, or just cut the muffler off, but then you'd essentially be irreversibly modding your exhaust (which would tank the resell value). You could do the same as cutting the muffler off for cheap with an actual axleback muffler delete (e.g. Berk).

Unless you're willing to go through all that trouble, might be better off from a cost and convenience standpoint to sell the exhaust and get a different one.

Thanks for the response man! Yes, thinking of adding the Y/Tee in the middle pipe. I don't really care about butchering the exhaust, just want to switch from quiet to louder whenever I want.

Well, that cut-out would increase the sound for sure - if you don't have a problem dumping the exhaust gasses out right under the car.

In this neck of the woods, if you drove a car with a cut-out on the road, THAT alone could get one a ticket. Plus if the LEO smelled exhaust coming out from your car, THAT would get one another ticket.

Your experience may vary - :iono:

Sell the HKS legamax exhaust and put a 3" catback on instead.
