:mad0260: Someone took my paint down to primer where the V forms in front of the headlight. About four inches were scrubbed off the top edge and an inch off the bottom. Fortunately the primer is black so it doesn't jump out at you, but it makes me furious. It looks like someone had a head of steam while backing into the space in front of me. It's a shame we're forced to share roads and parking spaces with incompetent and inconsiderate drivers who only see a car as mere transportation.

Condolences, that's miserable. My car has been vandalized, albeit purposefully. I left Best-Buy one day to find a bunch of deep scratch on my trunk, like someone had thrown their backpack on it and dragged it across. It sucks because no matter how much you love your car, people don't care and you can't control them.

I once parked my Miata at least 8 feet behind a big barge. The next morning I had two parallel gouges going back almost to the center of the hood. He had to come back 8 feet plus about 3 more to do that much damage.

You mean artfully framed, rationally precise, insightful, pertinent and well written. Right?

My car has been swiped three times now by careless drivers. And when I say careless, I mean "they couldn't care less" that they ran into someone. Who knows how many times it's been bumped in parking lots when I'm NOT in it...
