Broken ignition coil bolt

While changing my spark plugs I cross threaded the passenger side front ignition coil bolt. It broke off just above flush. How screwed am I?

Pain in the ass but not horribly screwed.

No space for that

Yeah definitely cant get that in there, I'm afraid they are going to have to pull the motor....so I'm probably looking at 1k to repair?

Well ok then. Extracting the bolt is a pain in the butt. Getting to the bolt to extract it is even worse!

$1100 to fix. That's for pulling the motor, replacing the valve cover because they couldn't get the bolt out and 2 new spark plug seals (whatever those are). I told them to just check everything at this point since the motor is out and I'm in this deep

If you have MT, mind as well get stronger clutch fork plus newer TOB, if engine is out.

Clutch and TOB were replaced <20k miles ago so I should be good. I'm having them check the pulleys because my engine is really chirpy on start up.

I also have a pretty unstable idle, it is all over the place from 500 to 1k , should i have them do that too?

Is there enough sticking out to get vice grips on it? My next suggestion is cut a slot in the bolt with a cutting wheel on a Dremel. then get a slotted screwdriver bit in a ratchet. Have someone with a pry bar apply pressure to the ratchet head while you try to unscrew the bolt. Wouldn't hurt to soak it with a penetrating oil as well.
The next step normally would be to drill out the bolt and put a helicoil in. You could try doing it with a right angle drill and stubby bits but I doubt it would be possible without lowering the motor.
just curious, does the coil have to have a bolt on it? could you wedge something between the frame and the coil to hold it in place?
