FA20DIT Swap

Sorry if this has been discussed over and over, But why dont I see more of these? Is there a reason Its not being used? I would think it would be the easiest of any swap.

I got an extra FA20DIT for my WRX and I was thinking of putting it in my FRS.

The trans Bell housing should bolt right up? Will the trans take the power as long as I dont abuse it?

Wiring will be a chore but engine swaps is my game (V6 in my celica and 5VZ into my 4runner)

Engine mounts should be the same?? if not I can make them.

FMIC will be used.

Please let me know of dealbreakers, what makes this swap nearly impossible.

Thanks

thanks for the links, Im shocked that the bell housings have different bolt patterns. And the starter is on the wrong side.

I know these are old threads and people were saying cost cost blah blah. but its much later in the game now and you can find FA20DITs for about 1500 bucks. FMIC is fairly simple. But integrating the DIT ECU or using the FRS ECU sounds like its not worth the hastle.

Sounds like dropping in a set of rods and pistons is much more cost effective.
