which springs for bilstein b6

Just ordered the Bilstein B6 shocks//struts and I am looking for a set of springs now. I want nothing more than maximum 1" drop and just a bit stiffer than stock FR-S suspension. I was looking at Eibach Pro, Tein H Tech, RCE Yellows. Are TRD springs better?

rce yellows hands down. IMO they're a bit much for stock dampers but i think the b6s would handle them well.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Bilstein B6's designed for stock height springs while the B8's were designed for lowering springs?

Just like stock shocks/struts, B6 can go up to 1" lower than stock. If you want to lower more, B8 is recommended.

It's my impression the B8 does not offer any additional bump travel over the B6 in this application.

I think all you get is shorter travel which might keep some springs from unseating at full droop. But any spring that would do that on a b6 is probably really crappy and too low.

+1 for RCE Yellows these are great springs.

Any significant advantage of progressive springs of trd/eibach-pro?

TRD and RCE springs are also manufactured by Eibach but RCE springs are not progressive.

Progressive springs will be more comfortable on bumpy roads, but will give a more unpredictable feeling when driving the car hard.

Both kits come with shorter bump stops but you’ll only be using the rears anyways.

I have had RCE (20mm drop) on my B6s and JDM STi (~10mm drop) and I can tell the struts/shocks appreciate the extra travel.

RCE Yellows are not made by Eibach. In the USA Eibach is the OEM for TRD springs. Go with RCE Yellows and rear LCAs to get rid of the camber in the rear.

What's wrong with a little negative camber? RCE probably only will add -1.5, which won't cause weird tire wear. It's toe that can if you do not get an alignment after install. Not that LCA are a bad Idea; just that most want them to add camber...

OP, I had Prokit springs for 65,000 miles of daily driving. I really liked them. But, many times I wondered if RCE would have been a better choice for my style of driving.

I know I keep suggesting it in threads, but I also wish that I had installed a bumpsteer roll center kit when I installed my springs a long time ago. (And maybe some LCA too:party0030:)

DD build...
Springs
Camber bolts
Bumpsteer kit
LCA
